Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive in Tokyo
Welcome to Japan! Check into your hostel and meet your Group Leader and crew. Settle in and prepare for an extraordinary adventure.
Day 2Tokyo Exploration
Explore Senso-ji Temple, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku's quirky fashion streets, and the famous Shibuya Crossing. Experience Tokyo's electric nightlife in Shinjuku with karaoke.
Day 3Sushi Class & Akihabara
Visit Tsukiji outer market, then learn to make sushi with a sushi master. Afternoon exploring Akihabara's anime wonderland.
Day 4Bullet Train to Nagano
Ride the legendary bullet train (Shinkansen) to Nagano. Origami experience and visit a traditional onsen (hot spring). Stay in a Japanese Ryokan.
Day 5Snow Monkeys
Roll soba noodles then visit the incredible snow monkeys of Jigokudani — watch them bathe in natural hot springs. Explore Shiga Kogen National Park.
Day 6To Hakone
Bullet train to Hakone, known for its spectacular Mount Fuji views and natural hot springs.
Day 7Mount Fuji & Osaka
Lake Ashi pirate ship cruise and Mount Fuji cable car ride. Then head to Osaka for a BBQ dinner and optional karaoke night in the Dotonbori district.
Day 8Osaka Castle
Visit the impressive Osaka Castle and learn about Samurai history. Explore the neon-lit Dotonbori canal region — Japan's street food capital.
Day 9Buddhist Temple Stay
Travel to Koyasan for an unforgettable overnight stay in a 1,000-year-old Buddhist temple. Meditation with monks, traditional Buddhist cuisine, and a haunting night walk through Japan's largest cemetery.
Day 10Koyasan to Kyoto
Wake for morning prayer and a mesmerising fire ceremony with the monks. Traditional breakfast, then travel to the ancient capital of Kyoto. Evening Geisha walking tour of Gion.
Day 11Bamboo Forest & Golden Pavilion
Walk through the magical Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and visit the stunning Kinkakuji Golden Pavilion. Free time to explore Kyoto's temples and tea houses.
Day 12Fushimi Inari & Samurai
Hike through the thousands of vermillion torii gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine. Then learn to wield a Samurai sword in an authentic experience. Final celebration dinner.
Day 13Farewell Kyoto
The adventure concludes in Kyoto. Depart with incredible memories, or extend your trip — many travelers continue to Osaka, Hiroshima, or book our 17-day extended tour.
